The Architecture Engineering 300 studio focuses on the integration of the three major technical systems in a building: structure, enclosure and service system. This studio extends the application of previous AE design studios to encompass larger building spatial scale, longer spans and two stories of commercial institutional buildings. A series of project case studies, each focused on one of the three systems, will form the structure of the studio. Case studies of existing buildings will be used extensively to investigate the integration of building technology with architecture and will set the framework for the final term project for a schematic design of a community center.
