Architecture Alum Wins Award for Bahá'í Temple, South America


Congratulations to Waterloo Architecture alum, Siamak Hariri, and Hariri Pontarini Architects for Bahá'í Temple of South America receiving the Honor Award for International Architecture at the AIA International Region Design Awards.


This AIA program celebrates the importance of architecture and of the role of architects to design for people and planet, towards a future of health, inclusivity and stewardship.


The Bahá'í Temple of South America has previously been recognized with these awards:

  • The Governor General’s Medal for Architecture (2019)
  • The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) International Prize (2019)
  • The  Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) Design Excellence Award (2018)
  • The WAN Awards Regional winner - Best in Americas, within the Civic Building (2018)
  • The American Architecture Prize Architectural Design (2017), among others
