In the lower left corner, there is a photo of a young woman against a beige background. A graphic of hands reaching for food around a table in the upper right corner.

In this talk, Moayeri will explore the concept of Iranian queer heritage through case studies of spaces that have shaped the experiences of Iranian LGBTQ+ refugees to Toronto in Iran, Turkey, and Canada. In addition to this presentation of her graduate research, Moayeri will speak to her approach towards this personal topic and discuss thoughts on future research about queer space.

Moayeri is a Co-Founder of Treaty Lands Global Stories and a member of Waterloo Architecture’s Racial Equity and Environmental Justice Advisory Board. She has won multiple awards for her research on Iranian queer heritage.
