Project Date

A curated spa and teahouse experience that takes you on a journey of healing; healing together, healing alone and healing with nature.

The architecture is nestled deep within the forest and accessible by a simple stone path. A humble entrance carved in the ground gives way to physical and experiential frames that encourage individuals to look beyond. Through discovery and exploration, one not only moves through the frame as architectural artifact but as a meta-physical experience of healing.

Beyond the frame embraces the site’s natural geology to create a rich palette of spaces with unique atmospheric qualities where light becomes your companion and form as your guide. The project is inspired by the films The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover by Peter Greenaway, Inland empire by David Lynch, and Persona by Ingmar Bergman.

Welcome to 'Beyond the frame’.
