The Medardus Curtain is an adaptive, biomimetically developed rain façade and sun shading system. It is inspired and derived specifically from the proprioceptive nature of plants and fungi as they react to changes in ground orientation, moisture, and wind. The individual parts of the Curtain’s modules are designed to open and close in response to changes in the surrounding environment so as to passively maintain a comfortable space within and extend the seasonal use of a given buildings associative outdoor space.
